Sunday, September 11, 2016 will be a day of remembrance at Redding Meditation Center.
Join us to commomerate the 28th anniversary of the passing of Thai meditation master Luang Por Teean. He is the founder of the lineage with which our Meditation Center belongs.
Luang Por Teean was both Achan Da and Achan Niphen’s teacher. We owe him a debt of gratitude for his dedication to the Dhamma, which led him to realize nibbana, and for his generous and tireless efforts to share his realization with others, even through his battle with cancer. Without Luang Por Teean, our Center would not exist. It is the tradition in Thailand to commemorate his passing with a meditation retreat and a re-commitment to the Dhamma. What better day than September 11th?
Our regular first-Saturday one-day retreat will happen instead on September 11th to honor Luang Por Teean’s memory. Through the sincerity and determination of our practice we can allow his life and work to continue to bear fruit.
The retreat will begin at 9:30 AM, and conclude at 4:00 PM. Achan Niphen will prepare some food, but you are also free to supplement this with something brought from home.
Non-members, please register by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
